Following the success of our first art class, we're thrilled to be hosting another one this month! It’s a fantastic opportunity for residents to tap into their creativity and enjoy some relaxed, social time with others.

We’re also excited to announce the return of Cooking Club ! This month, residents will have the chance to share their favorite recipes, cooking tips, and treasured memories — teaching not only our staff but fellow residents too. It’s all about connection, tradition, and delicious food.

And great news — bus trips are back! For those who love to get out and about, we’ll be hitting the road again soon for some fresh air, beautiful views, and good company.

Over the past two months, we’ve proudly celebrated the incredible dedication of our long-serving team members.

This month , we recognised staff who have been with Homewood for 5 and 10 years
Last month , we honoured those who reached 15, 20, and 25-year milestones

With these celebrations, we’ve now officially acknowledged all staff who have reached a service milestone — and what an achievement it has been!

Out of our 158 staff , an amazing 40 team members have been with us for 5 years or more , which speaks volumes about the heart and loyalty of our Homewood family.

We look forward to celebrating even more milestones next year — thank you all for the care, commitment and warmth you bring every single day.

Over the past month, we’ve proudly celebrated some of the incredible team members who make Homewood the special place it is. ��

We began by recognising Sergy (AIN), Emily and Olivia (Team Leaders), and Makereta (Laundry Head), each marking an impressive 15 years of service. Their dedication, consistency, and care have had a lasting impact on both their teams and our residents.

We then celebrated Candy and Finau, two of our wonderful AINs, who have each given 20 years of compassionate service. Their loyalty and commitment to resident care truly exemplify the heart of aged care.

And finally, we honoured a remarkable milestone — 25 years or more of service — achieved by Kim, Sharmila, and Maria, three exceptional women whose care and presence have become woven into the very fabric of Homewood. Their contribution goes beyond duty; it’s legacy. To all of these team members: thank you for your years of compassion, consistency, and care. Your dedication continues to shape Homewood into a place that feels like home.

Homewood Care proudly remains covid free.

What a whirl wind few months it has been!!

Our Resident COVID-19 vaccinations commenced roll out on the
5th May, with the second vaccination due on the 26th May.

Thank you to everyone who participated. 95% of our Residents received the COVID-19 vaccination, all with no side effects.

Our CEO Leslie Everson is taking a well-earned break and will be back with us in 2 weeks’ time. Please do not hesitate to contact Jill Alls.

Vaccination – COVID -19

Our Vaccinations were administered by a team from “Sonic Health Plus”who were contracted by the government to deliver the program to Homewood Care.

We ran a clinic type service for the majority of residents, with those unable ,to leave their rooms being vaccinated in their own rooms.

An additional clinic has been scheduled to vaccinate new Residents.
